2010 Thailand Day 4 - Paree Hut

x We all woke up around 5am (hahaha). We got cleaned up and got ready. By sunrise, we went out to the beach and had some breakfast: fried eggs, bacons, and chocolate milk.
In the morning, Hart and I went up a hill to take pictures. Mom joined us for a bit, then she went back down and talked to some people, including the owner of the place. She likes talking to people.
x Hart and I continued to take more pictures. The scenery here was very pretty. There were cliffs and rocks to the sides, the mountains to the back, and the beach in the middle. The water was clear with a hint of green.
Next Hart and I rented a kayak. Mom didn't know how to swim, so she stayed back at the beach. The kayak owner told us there were some huts over to the left side of the beach. They were built for a movie set. After the filming was done, they turned the place into a resort. So we kayaked over to see it. It was almost surreal. There were bamboo huts sitting right along the edges of a rocky cliff. We saw people jumping off and swimming around.
After a couple of hours we went back to the beach and had lunch with Mom. We called our taxi driver from last night and asked him about the huts. He called them up and told us there were rooms available. So we got our stuff and went over. The place was Paree Hut.
x We rented two huts: one for Mom and another for Hart and me. This place was what I would imagine a tropical report to be. Everything was made out of bamboo or some kind of wood. There were boardwalks over looking the rocky cliffs. Sunbathing place over looking the water. A (heated?) pool in the middle of the resort. Each hut had a balcony in the front, with a walkway all the way around. Inside, there's one bed, a few windows, a sink room, and bathroom. There was also a fan, a mosquito net, and some outlets. But no AC or hot water.
x After we checked in, Hart and I jumped off the cliffs and went swimming. Initially the water was very calm. We swam around and hung out in the water. All the sudden we noticed the water was splashing against the rocks and the waves getting bigger. There were dark clouds above us and a storm was coming. We got worried and got out of the water.
We rented a fishing pole and caught a squid. We gave it to the kitchen staff and they made a dish for us. It couldn't get much fresher that this!
