If I had lost any other item, keys, laptop, wallet, etc it wouldn't have been that bad. But to lose your wedding ring, it's a big deal (especially to your spouse).
I spent about an hour searching for it. Lo and behold! As I was giving up for the night, to search again the next day, I went into the bathroom to clean up and found it laying on the rug, right in plain sight.
Disaster thwarted.
