2009 - Cruise - Day 3

pic Today we dock at Roatan, Honduras. Our excursion met at the dock at 8 AM. It was a typical sight seeing + beach one. We stopped at four places. The first one was a "mall" at the top of a hill. It wasn't too impressive. There was only one shop inside that was open. The rest of the stores were empty. The view was decent, over looking the bay and the cruise ship.
The second stop was an iguana farm. There were a lot of them, and they weren't in cages, just laying out in the walk way. We got to feed them. And you could pet them of you wanted to (we didn't). One girl from another group sat down on the ground, and all the iguanas were climbing all over her. Crazy!
Out third stop was pretty cool. It was a house on top of a hill with awesome views, of both sides of the island. On one side you can see the the great barrier reef. It's one of those really cool sceneries that pictures don't do it justice!
Our final stop was at a private beach behind a resort. The beach was a nice, blue water beach. But the funnest part was the volleyball game. Jessica sat under a palm tree while I played a few games with the people at the resort. Most of them were French and one guy spoke Spanish. It was cool that even though we didn't speak the same language, we were still able to have a good time (we all knew how to play volleyball and were decent enough to have good games). I had a few diving plays. Too bad the sand were a bit rough, and I ended up with a few scrapes.
We got back on the boat around noon and spent the rest of the day just hanging out. We got to see the sunset, which was pretty neat. In the evening, we went to see the vantriloquist show by Ken Groves. It was pretty good, but I thought he could have had more interaction with the doll (it was mostly the doll doing the talking).
Before heading to bed, I went online to check some email and upload the mini blog post. I was only for seven minutes, which cost me $9.20 ($3.95 activation + $0.75 * 7 minutes).
